24th Annual Art of Winter Instagram Competition:
20 Days of Winter Themed Works
The Adele Campbell Gallery would like to announce the winners of our ***20 Days of Winter Themed Works*** Instagram Competition!
1st Prize: Deborah Anne
Favourite Work: Dana Irving, “Winter Dreams”
"Winter Dreams," encapsulates the spirit of the mountains in a fluid waltz of shape, colour, and motion. The peaceful, playful, yet powerful sense of potential, the breathless beauty, the zest of nature itself, all enrapture my mountain soul with pure alpine essence until I, too, am part of the dance.
2nd Prize: robertamacq
Favourite Work: Andrew Kiss, ‘Winter Splendour,’
"This piece evokes so many memories of a lifetime-from my childhood days to the present. Winter magic is inherent of the Canadian psyche. Being surrounded by the forests and mountains everyday in Whistler is good for the soul."
3rd Prize: Jane Manning
Favourite Work: Rod Charlesworth, 'Frozen Fun,'
I learned to skate on a frozen pond with my siblings in Lethbridge, Alberta. Bundled up snug, we were surrounded by our grandparents, parents, aunts & uncles - falling was eliminated and skating prowess was quickly achieved! Our day always finished with hot chocolate & marshmallows.
The mountains signify happiness to me and reflections of memories past - I learned to ski at Whistler with my first boyfriend. I met my husband Paul skiing at Whistler, our son David literally grew up on the slopes here & met his partner Chelsea at Whistler too!
We are blessed to have a seasonal home overlooking the Whistler Gondola, and are hoping for some grandkidlets to share the magic of the mountains and create more memories."
